The History of Adidas

A German cobbler named Adolf “Adi” Dassler was the founder and inventor of German sportswear company Adidas. He was also the younger brother of the founder of Puma Rudolf Dassler. Adi Dassler built the largest manufacturer of equipment and sportswear. The company was started by Adolf Dassler in his mother’s house; he was joined by his elder brother Rudolf under the name Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in 1924. Adidas is famous for designing shoes, accessories and clothing. After Nike, it is the second largest sportswear manufacturer in the world and the largest in Europe. Adidas acquired 3-stripe logo, its signature from the Finnish athletic footwear brand Karhu Sports, for 1600 euros and two bottles of whiskey. One of the main focus of Adidas has always been football kits. The supply of team kits for international association football clubs and teams still remains the main goal of Adidas.
